2 March 2014

This month's project will be to make a small wall hanging of a zentangle (aka zendoodle).  What is that, you ask?

To quote from zentangle.com:

"Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.

Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. The Zentangle method is enjoyed all over this world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages."

This will give you a chance to practice  free motion stippling,  border  and binding, as well as doodling.

These are examples from Suzan's collection.

Suzan will provide material, batting and pens suitable for fabrics for anyone wishing to purchase from her.  She will provide  the white cotton on which to draw free of charge.

You should bring paper and pencil to sketch/practice your design.  Of course, you are welcome to bring your own fabric, 100% cotton (top, bottom and binding),
10"x10" or 12"x12", batting to fit, and black & white thread.  You should bring a stippling foot for your sewing machine.
