Who We Are
|
| We are a group of enthusiastic crafters, having begun our activities in
2001. A common interest is machine embroidery. There are 30 members, with
18-20 'active' members who attend the monthly meetings.
We encourage members to bring their current project(s) for a Show 'n Tell,
from which future demonstrations evolve. Occasionally throughout the year we organize seminars and workshops outside of the regular monthly meetings. We share our knowledge and experience of all things related to sewing, embroidery and quilting. These include techniques and products (different threads, stabilizers etc.) used to create our crafts. During the year there are a number of community charity projects, such as creating quilts with embroidery designs for CHEO and Rogers House and fabric Christmas gift bags for a variety of mens' and womens' shelters. There are also a number of weekend retreats with a sewing, embroidery or quilting theme. They are held at the NAV Centre in Cornwall. |
